Mental Health Peer Specialist Training
The Texas Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS) Training is a 40-hour advanced course approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). It is designed for individuals with lived experience in mental health recovery who have completed the Core Training and are ready to pursue state certification. This track-specific training builds specialized skills for supporting others navigating mental health challenges, including topics such as psychiatric recovery, crisis support, and wellness planning. Completion of this training is required to become a state-certified Mental Health Peer Specialist in Texas.
